A yellow alert for the next 48 hours has been issued by the Meteorological Department regarding rain and thunderstorms in Bihar. There is a possibility of heavy rains in some districts in the state in the next 48 hours. Apart from this, light to moderate rain is expected in almost all the districts.
Monsoon reaches Bihar-Bengal border
The Southwest Monsoon has now reached Bagdogra on the border of Bihar and Bengal. At present, the nearest Monsoon Current is 160 to 165 km away from the Bihar border and it is moving towards Bihar at its natural speed. According to the Meteorological Department, the entry of monsoon in Bihar will be through Purnia and it is expected to enter Bihar from the evening of June 11 to the evening of June 12.

If the monsoon enters Bihar on June 11 or 12, then this will be the first time in the last 5-6 years that it has arrived prematurely. Monsoon entered Bihar in 2015 on June 22, in 2016, on June 17, in 2017, on June 16, in 2018, on June 25, in 2019 on June 22 and in 2020 on June 13.
